I’m not sure when my love for horses began, I just know they were all I ever thought about. As soon as I could talk, I was begging my parents to walk me down the street to visit our neighbor’s chestnut gelding, Roman. Riding lessons started at age six and I never looked back.

Horses made me feel accepted, understood, and at peace. Like many horse people, I felt their healing power long before I could put it into words.

That understanding deepened profoundly when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer during my senior year of high school. Our horses became a source of strength and calm, helping us navigate a journey we were completely unprepared for. They grounded us in the present and offered peace during some of our most uncertain moments.

Since then, I’ve witnessed the healing power of horses again and again—at therapeutic riding centers, through helping a veteran friend, and while volunteering with veterans. After seeing those powerful transformations, I wanted to create a space where that connection could continue.

That’s how Project ComeBack was born: a place where veterans can return to deepen their bond with horses and continue their healing journey together.

What started as an obsession has become a lifelong calling—to share the healing, the peace, and the power of horses with others who need it most.
