Building a better tomorrow

At Project ComeBack, we believe that healing happens through action, connection, and purpose. Our mission is to create a space where both horses and humans can recover and grow together. Founded in 2017, Project ComeBack is dedicated to rehabilitating rescued horses while providing a powerful healing experience for veterans and others who have lived through trauma.

Many of the horses in our program have faced neglect, abuse, or hardship. As they learn to trust again, their stories often resonate deeply with the people who work with them. Veterans, in particular, as well as others who have experienced trauma, often find parallels between their own journeys and the horses’ paths to recovery. By helping these animals regain confidence and purpose, participants also find a space to process their own healing in a supportive and understanding environment.

To expand access to our programming, we operate in two locations. Project ComeBack North, in Holliston, MA, runs from May through October, while Project ComeBack South, in Timmonsville, SC, allows us to continue offering programs outside of the New England season, with scheduling based on weather and participant needs.

  • What People Say

“Every time I leave the farm, I feel like I learned something and did something meaningful. And maybe that feeling of doing something meaningful is the main reason I love doing what I do here. No matter what, I am honored to be a part of Project Comeback.”

  • What People Say

"My time with this horse was amazing. I was in fear as I never walked a horse solo but his demeanor and calmness insured me that this wasn't a task but an initial bonding of man and animal. My doubts and fears were immediately gone."

  • What People Say

"I will take the importance of patience and always learning. I will give my whole heart to whatever I am trying to attain. I will start fresh with new knowledge and an open mind. I'd like to leave behind my fears and stress. I give thanks to the horses who give me a sense of serenity, protection & peace."

  • What People Say

"What I'll take from this experience is to ask the horse's permission rather than order it to do something. I will take also take the positive energy that Lindsay puts into her program. It has affected everyone in a positive way."
